Belgian hotels 13th in the world for wifi quality
Nearly 62% of all Belgian hotels offer a good wireless internet (wifi) connection, according to the website Hotelwifitest.com. That puts Belgium in 13th place in the world for wifi service, well ahead of most other European countries, reports De Zondag. Good wifi in this case means a download speed of at least 3 Mbps and an upload speed of 500 Kbps.
According the study, 46% of hotels across Europe have adequate wifi connections. The US lags behind with 35%, while Asian countries have the best score, with 50% of all hotels offering good wifi service. In South Korea, the number is as high as 92%.
Within Europe, hotels in Switzerland have the fastest connection, followed by Romania. With its13th place worldwide, Belgium beats out neighbours Germany and the Netherlands. Of all European countries, Greece has the lowest score, at 20.7%.
Belgium also scores better when it comes to free wifi in the hotel room, with four in five Belgian hotels offering the service, above the European average.
