Zach Bruder & Anouk Ines
For our final exhibition before September, we're pleased to host concurrent shows in our front and back spaces. Both introduce artists to the Belgian public for the first time.
Zach Bruder (lives and works in Brooklyn)
Anouk Ines (lives and works in Antwerp)
“Hardscrabbled” is the first exhibition of the Cleveland born, Brooklyn based painter Zach Bruder in Belgium. Bruder considers himself a practitioner of circular occurrence. Characterized by rather direct, graphic style intertwining religious, social, intrapersonal and often tragic narratives, his paintings typically derive from pre-existing imagery assembled in an extensive archive.
"From One Moment to Another"
Ines takes a painterly approach to framing the anxiety of loss and connection familiar to so many of us. Meaning builds from emotional experience challenging physical reality. There is also action and the realization of image through gesture. Hand movements, not digital post-production call attention to the process of creating.
