Wrongful dismissal- looking for lawyer to take on my case

Question

Hello,
I'm looking for suggestions for lawyers that would be willing to take on a wrongful dismissal case. It's a very interesting case and I believe that I have all the proof that I was wrongfully dismissed. I'm willing to give any money that I might obtain to charity or to the lawyer that represents me. Pursuing this case is mainly about the principle for me. I already talked to once lawyer who charged me over 500euros for a consultation meeting and subsequent email exchange. She was confident we would win the case but I simply cannot afford her services moving forward. Any advice would be appreciated.
Many thanks.

I am not a lawyer, but I don't actually think that you can hire a lawyer in Belgium on a conditional basis. It's against the rules.

Therefore your only route, if you're going to pursue this is to find someone prepared to do the work pro bono as a volunteer.

Try contacting your local CPAS at the commune, or see if your local bar association will help.

If your dismissal was something to do with discrimination, you may be able to find more help through campaigning groups.

I would just say that the fact that one lawyer has already declined to act on your case doesn't bode well for the future.

Thanks for the responses to date. Just to clarify, no lawyer declined to take my case. The lawyer I approached believed we had a strong case and would win but I can't afford her services.

If you can't afford a lawyer, then your options should be:
- Union
- Aide juridique
- Pro-bono
In that order. Union is by far your best bet.

Ask your self is this worth what i would possibly win? Am i prepared to put my life on hold for a long time whilst this is sorted just to be proved right? My friends husband was dismissed and took him 18months to reslove his case at end he didnt get his job back yes he got a pay out but the stress almost wrecked their marriage. He was severly depressed. If its still worth it all the best

Anywhere in the world lawyers are expensive and have additional fees.
Perhaps join a union and see what the union lawyer can do for you.
