Working in Belgium for Netherlands employer

Question

Hi,

I am currently working in Netherlands with highly skilled migrant work permit. My Netherlands employer has a client in Belgium and I am expected to work in Belgium for 6 Months with work visa. Can I hold both residence permit? I am planning to get permanent residence in Netherlands which requires me not to leave the country for more than 6 months. Even though I will be living in Belgium temporarily I will be still working in Netherlands payroll. So will it be considered as I am living in Belgium or Netherlands for this 6 months period?

Why ask a Dutch question on a Belgian forum?

If your employer expects you to work in Belgium for 6 Months it is their responsibility to find out the legal implications of asking you to do so.

I'd agree with KASSEISTAMPER above, your employer should be taking responsibility for this not you. There are other implications as well, such as taxes and social security.
Also, if acquiring residence in the Netherlands is important to you (which I assume it is), then personally I would take advice from an immigration lawyer in Holland before you agree any move to Belgium to be sure of your situation.
