Hi X-Pats,
We'd like to spend a weekend in Linz, Austria later this year and wonder if anyone has travel advice on the shortest and not-too-expensive way to get there and back from Belgium (Charleroi area). Air travel is undoubtedly the quickest but pricey and I haven't been able to get prices for the train yet. Any ideas?

Hi, i´ am from Austria. I normally go alawys by plane. My friends are visited me and the arrive at Charleroi. It is really cheap, but you cannot take much lagguage with you. And you arrive in Schwechat / Vienna Airport? or? Or are you going to Innsbruck Airport?
When you are going with the train you can visit the austrian train line: www.oebb.at - the normal price from brussels north to vienna is: 69 Euro for one distance.
So i think the cheapest way is from Brussels Charleroi.
