water softners

Question

Considering installing a new water softner and seek recommendations. I recall there was previously a question on this, but cannot find back with search function. BWT has been mentioned by my plumber, and I know Culligan are probably the leaders in this area, but wanted personal recommendations in terms of reliability, service, ease of use. Thanks in advance.

If you can wait a couple of weeks, goto Batibauw and compare prices, get deals etc. among all the various brands / installers.

Thanks, ANON. Indeed I was planning to go to Batibouw, but wanted personal recommendations from those who may have installed a softner.

We had a Culligan installed a few years ago and are more than happy with performance and reliability. Culligan servicing is good too.

(and I don't even have shares in Culligan!).

We got a plumber to do the pre-installation (pipes, etc) and they came and fitted the softener and tank, as it was cheaper that way.

I think this is the system which was installed in my building a couple of years ago. I am checking to see who installed it. Apparently this type is more efficient than those using salt.
