Walibi to build largest rollercoaster in the Benelux

21:48 15/08/2017

Belgian amusement park Walibi has plans to build the biggest and fastest rollercoaster in the Benelux, De Morgen reports. While the ride will not be ready for another four years, the first images were found on the website of the two French artists commissioned with the design. With an investment of €100 million, the entire park in Wavre is set to receive a makeover, including several new attractions every year.

Walibi announced its ambitious plans for the future at a long-awaited press conference in June. From next year until 2023, the park will add new attractions annually. By the time the project is finished, 75% of Walibi's park will look completely different. "The metamorphosis will be historic," according to the director.

One of the new rollercoasters will be between 70 and 80 metres high, making it the largest rollercoaster of the Benelux, in addition to the fastest. The new attraction will be visible from the motorway.
