Unwanted books

Question

I remember seeing a post for disposal of unwanted books. One suggestion was an annual sale for a good cause at Stonemanor? Another was a bookshop in Waterloo? Any other suggestions?
I also have a lot of books on teaching English which I would hate to bin.

If you want to give them away - the Red Cross on Rue de Stalle in Uccle collect books in all languages and when they have enough they sell them for their funds.
Maybe the ones which Pele Mele don't buy ....

You could approach a local school or your commune's library to see if they are interested in the books on teaching English.
My experience with Pele Mele is that they are only interested in recently published books in good condition and the amount which they will pay for them probably won't cover the cost of you getting to their shop.
I am permanently on the look-out for reading material; I'm retired and an avid reader. If you are willing to pass them on to me I will, in turn, give them to the sales at Stonemanor when I've read them. There are sales planned for June and September 2017 and, I'm sure, there will be 2 more in 2018.

Pele-Mele in Ixelles or Brussels centre as already mentioned to sell (usually 1 or 2 Euros per book that they accept). I asked previously if they had any specific criteria - good condition and books that are most likely to sell and that they don't already have 200 copies of. So expect them to reject Dan Brown or 50 Shades.. They take DVDs too -
the key criteria are the title and that if English or another language, that they include Dutch and French language tracks/subtitles. Any books that they don't take could be taken to Les Petits Riens, which is quite close.

the places with which will give you the best prices are:

Evasions: near Bourse, rue du Midi I think. Start at the back of Bourse in the centre, head south towards Place Rouppe, about 200 south from Bourse on the right on a corner.

Nijinski: can't remember the street but it's around the end of the Avenue Louise end of Rue du Builli, near Trinité.

These two will give you better prices, but are much more picky about the book and especially it's condition.
