20:44 18/10/2017

Uniqlo will open its first Brussels store on Thursday, in the presence of the city's mayor Philippe Close and Japan's ambassador to Belgium.

The Japanese fashion giant has taken 1,500m2 in the newly renovated Monnaie shopping centre, which reopens on Thursday after two years of building works and with a new name: The Mint.

Police have been called in for crowd control at Thursday's launch. It is Uniqlo's third Belgian store after Antwerp and Wijnegem and the shop's legal capacity is 413 people.

Decathlon, Kiabi and Flying Tiger are among the other brands settling in the new three-level shopping complex on Place de la Monnaie.
