Traffic delays in EU district as Belliard tunnel closed

The Belliard tunnel in Brussels' EU district has been closed due to ventilation problems, causing major traffic delays in the area.

Brussels Mobility announced the tunnel's closure at 7.30 in the height of the Tuesday morning rush hour.

Engineers are on site to try to fix the problem. It is not yet clear when the tunnel can reopen.

Long jams were reported on Rue Belliard and the inner ring road between Louise and Arts-Loi.
