Three-bus accident causes chaos on Place Lux

Transport stops Trèves and Luxembourg are back open following a major accident between three busses on Place du Luxembourg on Tuesday morning. The accident put several people in the hospital and shut down traffic for a few hours.

It was apparently a chain reaction between two number 21 busses and one number 12. A bus being driven by a trainee driver – who was transporting passengers together with an instructor – rammed the back of a bus, which then rammed the back of another bus, according to Stib.

Three of the drivers were taken to hospital, as well as two passengers. None are in serious condition. Workers are busy getting the busses towed and the street cleaned up of debris, but traffic has been restored.
