Temporary internet

Question

Hello, we are moving to Brussels, but learnt from a number of internet providers that we would first need to be registered with the commune before we could get a contract. We have an appointment with the commune for 23 September, but it would be nice to have some internet access before that. Does anyone know of any pay-as-you-go temporary internet options?

Thanks!

You could consider getting a pay as you go card from Mobile vikings and use your mobile as a hotspot. I get 8 GB of data and 2 hours of talk for an internet top up of 15 euros.

When I lived in Belgium 1 week in 3 for a year before moving in permanently, I bought a dongle with a pay-as-you-go sim card from Proximus.

Bear in mind that your appointment with the commune is only the first step on the route to registration - the process can take several months.

I know this isn't what you're looking for but maybe helpful in a pinch...:

Rubbish you need to be registered. Order in advance so you get installation soon after moving.

@shortof
Does this mean that someone moving here to a property with an already installed landline cannot use it until they are registered at the commune?
I moved here in exactly that situation - many years ago - and I'm certain that we were able to use the phone from Day 1.
We signed to take over the gas, water and electric supply as well as the phone.
Does the 'need to be registered' now mean that new arrivals cannot shower, boil a kettle, turn on a light?
