Swimmers take a dip in Brussels canal

The high temperatures of recent weeks have led many Belgians to seek respite in creative ways, especially in Brussels where there is a serious lack of public outdoor swimming pools, writes Bruzz. One Bruzz reader this week captured a photo of two swimmers taking a refreshing dip in the city's canal.

Police and port services reaffirm, however, that swimming in the canal is still prohibited. The port of Brussels adds that this is especially in the interest of the people themselves, as a toxic algae plague has made the water unsafe.
