Sweet treats: the Salon du Chocolat returns to Brussels

10:12 06/02/2018
Live demonstrations, workshops, tastings and chocolate fashion - enjoy a weekend dedicated to all things chocolate this March

The fifth edition of the Salon du Chocolat is back in Brussels to celebrate chocolate in all its forms at Tour & Taxis from 2-4 March.

The chocolate-filled weekend has everything from chocolate pairings with beer, to different workshops to learn more about the sweet treat. This year’s theme is Chocolate & Cocoa: The Great Adventure.

Chocoland offers younger chocolate-lovers workshops where they can learn to make their own chocolate and learn about the its history. There will also be live demonstrations by the best Belgian chefs, pastry chefs and master chocolatiers, showing the audience their favourite chocolate recipes.

Salon du Chocolat spokeswoman Patricia Raes says the chocolate experience is one of a kind. "Of course, if you want to buy chocolate you can go in a shop, you can go into a chocolate house or even a supermarket, but at the chocolate show, you have a lot more. It’s all about the atmosphere, and you can taste everything."

Every evening at 17.00 there is a chocolate fashion show with outfits entirely made with chocolate, created by Belgian and international fashion designers and chocolatiers.

The weekend begins on Thursday evening with a VIP preview of all things chocolate. Tickets for the opening night are €20 and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Télévie, an organisation to fund research to fight leukemia and cancer in children and adults.

Tickets can be bought in advance until 1 March and are also available on the door. Sorry! Our competition to give away tickets is now closed and the winners have been notified by email.
