Stromae kicks off African tour in Dakar

11:50 13/05/2015

Stromae is in the Senegalese capital Dakar today to kick off his first African tour, reports Het Laatste Nieuws. The Belgian singer told the newspaper that he expects to experience a lot of emotions, especially at the end of the tour. That will take place in the Rwandan capital Kigali with a closing concert on 20 June.

It will be the first time the Belgian artist visits Rwanda, the homeland of his father, who was killed during the 1994 genocide. "As I get closer and closer to Rwanda, the country of my ancestors and my father, I honestly do not know what to expect," said Stromae. "There will definitely be a lot of emotions. I will be there to see family, my grandparents' house. It's a big deal."

After Dakar, Stromae’s tour will take him to Praia (Cape Verde), Douala (Cameroon), Abidjan (Ivory Coast), Libreville (Gabon), Brazzaville (Congo), Kinshasa (DRC) and Kigali (Rwanda).
