skateboard for a 6-year-old

Question

Where in Brussels can I buy a good quality skateboard for a 6-year-old tomboy? I know nothing about skateboards but my daughter really wants one for her birthday. What features should I look for, and is there a particular brand that you recommend? She plays rough so I don't want something cheap that will break or fall apart easily. Thanks!

BAP

There is a skatecourt at Kapellen railway station (city centre, Marolles) and next to it there is a shop dedicated to skating and the likes: Alfonce, 46 Boulevard de l'Empereur, 1000 Brussels . I would try my luck there.

There are free skateboarding lessons at the same skatepark (Albertine) every wednesday and saturday afternoon, but I think they only run from April to September. The skateshop that BAP recommended should be able to tell you more about them. My son learned to skate thanks to these lessons when he was five/six. The guys and girls who teach the kids are really a very nice bunch. Make sure to get the right kind of skateboard because I quickly realized that I had bought the wrong size for my little boy. It is also very important to get it adjusted so that they can turn despite not being heavy. The shop should be able to do this for you. Your little girl should check these girls out: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2469729/On-grind-6-year-old-girl... Don't forget the protective gear! Kids that age seem to fall off their skateboards more than they stand on them.
