Should I move to Spain?

Question

Dear xpats,

I've been offered a job at Spain (Alicante) but I'm unsure about taking it. All my life I have been living in Mexico, but I have always wanted to live an international experience. I am 25 at the moment and I would be moving to Spain with my girlfriend. I truly hope someone can help me with some opinions, the reasons why I'm unsure about this opportunity are:
- Security in Mexico is not at its best right now, so if I think about having a family in one or two years I'm not sure this would be the best place vs Spain
- My salary in Mexico is a good one, at Spain I have been offered 1000 Euros monthly after taxes plus 200-500 euros depending on objectives, is this a good salary right now at Spain? I know the crisis is over and right now is more a recession moment

Please give me your insights, I would appreciate any thoughts on this one

Xpats.com is a Belgian-based thing, so not the best place to ask.
1000/month is below the minimum wage for Belgium. I have no idea for Spain.

Hola

It is a Belgian site but you need to think:
what kind of house/ home feeling do you have in mexico.
in what area do you live?
how many hours are you going to work in the respective places?
what kind of life you can afford with your salary in MEXICO and what kind of life you could have in Spain.
City or not?
to me 1000 euroes is a small salary for two persons plus the stress to manage it in the new place...it does not seem very reassuring to me , but you need to make a more focused inquiry.
p.s. I am not really sure the cirisis is over in Europe. If I were in you I would inquire very much in detail for the place I should go,
and I might wait a little longer.
good luck

It is your choice and your life and your decision at the end of the day!
Weigh up the advantages and disadvantages. Make a plan.
If you go to Spain and it does not work out then can you return to Mexico?
If you don't try it you will never know!

Well, in my opinion, it's not the ideal salary for you.

There are tons of related guides around this topic.

The most updated I have found is this one:

Hope that helps!
