Sexist remarks not tolerated in Brussels

14:47 12/09/2012

The City of Brussels has already issued four administrative sanctions for public acts of intimidation of a sexual nature. From September 1, offenders face a fine of up to €250 euros, according to Het Nieuwsblad. The new law comes into effect shortly after the July broadcast of a documentary by Sofie Peeters, in which she uncovered the problem of sexist insults sometimes suffered by women walking down the street in Brussels.
