Self-defense classes

Question

Can anyone recommend a good self-defense class or teacher? The aim is to be prepared in case of unprovoked threats when travelling around the city.

The best for, of self defence is run like the wind. It's unusual to not spot trouble makers in a crowd say a drunk whose about to start a fight. If your vigilant you can be out of there before it happens. If you learn to use you're own sense of atmosphere you can often judge.
However of course if it's a terrorist armed with a weapon nothing is going to help you deal with that no matter how good your training unless youve had military style one on one combat training if they have a knife maybe you can deal with that, but a gun forget it. Just flee as soon as you can and call for help on you mobile, In the recent attack in London the speed of that car meant people had milliseconds to try and evade a speeding. So what good is any training when faced with people prepared to do that? Also I imagine the police in uk and soldiers are trained and in the past few years two have died as the result of single indivusls attacking them with weapons.
