Schuman Lights Up: Join The Bulletin for a winter party in the heart of the EU district

21:03 29/10/2019

Think of a magical winter wonderland and Schuman roundabout is perhaps not the first place that comes to mind.

But the EU district of Brussels is currently taking on a festive atmosphere, with Schuman Lights Up - a winter neighbourhood party featuring everything from seasonal delicacies to free yoga sessions and dance.

As part of the festivities, The Bulletin invites you to join us on Wednesday 4 December, under a heated marquee surrounded by 40 lit-up Christmas trees, on the esplanade of the Rue de la Loi, between the Berlaymont and the European Council building, for a chat, some food and drink.

Joining The Bulletin team on the night will be more than 20 embassies, permanent representations, regions and tourist offices, offering a range of specialities and seasonal delicacies.

"Everyone is welcome to come and experience the European district in full swing," says Marion Wolfers, president of local association Schuman Square. "This place is not very well known. In fact it's a magical space - so we've decided to use it to organise events."

Pop by after work if you can. We'll be there from 17.00 until about 21.00.

Before then, Schuman Lights Up is also offering a free dance workshop on Sunday 1 December (12.00-22.00), where you can have a go at salsa, bachata. It is followed on 2 December (18.00-22.00) with a chance to try your hand at pilates, yoga and self-esteem classes.

Schuman Lights Up, 29 November-4 December.
