Safar Republique, in which Safar translated from Arab means “journey”, is first of all the encounter between musicians with a very different background. The violin, with his classical and latin touch is combined with a guitar with jazzy sounds, the Kamele N’goni with his traditional African melodies and a percussionist from Moroccan origins. The music resulting from this amazing crossbreeding is harmonious, delicate, consistent as well as subtle. It’s also an elegant mixture of original compositions with traditional West African melodies.
Each piece invites the listener to travel along the arrangements to unknown places and continents. Safar Republique stands on a crossroad, it’s a getaway of melancholic atmosphere and festive emotions obtained by highly interweaved harmonies and fascinating rhythms.
