Reynders has plan to maintain top salaries for CEOs

12:07 29/08/2013

Deputy Prime Minister Didier Reynders (MR) sees a way out in the discussion over top salaries for CEOs of public companies. The CEOs can retain their high salaries if the companies are further privatised, Reynders said this morning on Radio 1. If the government would continue to distance itself from companies like BPost and Belgacom, then it would be the shareholders who determine the salaries, he argues. And that would be higher than the maximum salary of €290,000 that the government is now trying to impose.
