Restorative Yoga & Sound Healing Workshop
Restorative Yoga & Sound Healing Workshop Price: 45 euro (student/unemployed: 35 euro) True relaxation is “a state in which there is no movement, no effort and the mind is quiet” – Judith Hanson Lasater What is Restorative Yoga?
As modern life demands more from us, it is vital to give the mind enough time and space to fully rest, in turn allowing the body a precious opportunity to recover and restore itself. Deep breathing, meditation and yoga have long been used to relax the mind and balance the body, and Restorative Yoga beautifully blends together all three. Using props (like blankets, blocks and bolster pillows) to fully hold and support the body, positions are enjoyed for longer periods, sometimes up to 15-20 minutes to facilitate breathing and allow the body time to release otherwise inaccessible tension. This allows the mind to settle into a state of deep stillness, giving the body a chance to restore itself. This conscious relaxation gently leads your mind into a quiet space, resulting in a profound sense of calm. What will be covered in this workshop? In this workshop, certified Restorative Yoga teachers Caroline and Kris will guide you through a carefully constructed series of restorative yoga postures designed to create specific physiological responses in the body that are beneficial to health. You’ll be shown how to set yourself up in the postures in order to recreate a restorative practice on your own at home. The workshop also incorporates deep breathing techniques and guided deep relaxation to further help your body release tension and restore your mind, leaving you with a deep and profound sense of wellbeing. Who is it for?
This workshop is suitable for all levels, and highly recommended for anyone seeking stress-relief or a quiet space to unwind. Also perfect for yogis/yoginis that practice a more dynamic style to help balance their overall yoga experience. Please note this specific workshop has not been designed to accommodate pregnant students beyond their first trimester.
