Record attendance for Ixelles Museum ahead of closure

21:51 06/02/2018

The Museum of Ixelles has claimed a record number of visitors this winter, ahead of the museum's planned closure next month for three years of extensive renovations.

Museum management said 65,641 people passed through the front door between 19 October and 4 February, either for the restrospective of the work of photographer Robert Doisneau, or for Hop! - an art exhibition specially designed for children.

The museum will be organising a closing party, called Last Call, over the weekend of 2-4 March including live performances and a ball. From 5 March it will be closed and building works are due to begin in May.
