Quotes for shipping to the east coast usa

Hello xpats,
Would any of you be able to give me an idea of shipping costs, by air or sea, for items such as clothes, toys, books and other smaller items from Belgium to the east coast USA?
We don't plan on taking any big items, just all personal things. Just wondering if anyone has made a similar move or inquiry to shipping companies. We don't know what to expect.
Any suggestions as to which companies to contact and maybe which ones not to contact would also be welcome.
