Quote for replacement heating pump

Question

Our boiler has stopped working and we have been told that the problem is a broken pump that needs replacing. We have been quoted €650 to have this done. This seems excessive as looking online I can see the same job in the UK would be around £200. Is what we have been quoted excessive for Belgium, or is this the price we should expect. I don't want to waste time getting alternative quotes if this is what everyone is likely to charge as we have 2 small children, and not having had hot water for 5 days now is becoming a problem. Thanks in advance for any info

That is why all is so expensive.

If they would not bill you that amount, they would be unable to pay the huge level of taxes, social security fees and so on.

Small Belgian independants have also small children to feed.....
