PSA Peugeot Citroën to cut nearly 100 jobs in Belgium

23:47 12/03/2015

The Belgian importer of French automotive group PSA Peugeot Citroën is to reduce its workforce by 96 employees, the company announced on Thursday during a special meeting at its Belgian headquarters in Braine-l’Alleud. The entire staff in Belgium will be downsized by about a quarter.

The reorganisation is part of a strategic decision by the French car manufacturer to achieve greater synergy between its divisions in Belgium and the Netherlands, as was announced at the end of last year. PSA Peugeot Citroën has only commercial offices in the two countries, and no industrial activity.

After experiencing a difficult period in recent years, the group has launched a major restructuring program in order to improve results.
