Prime minister Michel urges British companies to “come to Belgium”

18:03 27/06/2016

In the wake of the Brexit referendum result, Belgium's prime minister Charles Michel was quick to react by inviting any British companies that may feel threatened by their country leaving the EU to set up in Belgium, writes Het Laatste Nieuws. In an interview with the newspaper, Michel said, “I am not out for revenge, but we need to show the British that they have a pyrrhic victory.”

“Many UK businesses are concerned that the Brexit will hinder their access to the European market,” he continued. “Well, my message is clear: Welcome to Belgium, a country with a business-friendly government in the heart of the EU."

The prime minister wants to initiate a campaign to spread the message.

Here is "business friendly"? What a joke. I have a business here and if anything I'm looking to go the other way. Maybe you can say that the current government is "business friendly" but by their own admission the system is not.
