Polish bicycle acrobat climbs Atomium stairs in record time

10:34 23/05/2016

Polish bicycle acrobat Krystian Herba on Sunday set a world record by climbing all 512 steps of the Atomium by bicycle in just 14 minutes and 4 seconds, writes Bruzz. The previous record was held by Frenchman Hugues Richard. It took him 19 minutes to climb the Atomium stairs by bike in 2013.

Herba has three more records to his name in the Guinness Book: he climbed the tallest building in Shanghai, the world's tallest hotel in Dubai and the world's fifth highest skyscraper in Taiwan.

With his latest achievement in Brussels, Herba aims to promote Poland as a tourist destination, and in particular the country's new 2,000km Green Velo, the longest cycle path in Europe.
