Pickup at Gare du Midi

Question

Hello all,
Any advice for where to wait with your car to collect somebody at Gare du Midi? I had a look at their website but all I could see was info on their Kiss & Ride ("parking prohibited") and some nearby street names with onstreet parking. Is there a good area to wait nearby for somebody and then drive up to the Kiss & Ride when they come out? And where is this Kiss & Ride exactly? Place Horta side? I'm very familiar with the station but have never picked anyone up by car there before.
Thanks for any tips.

Mimi

What I always do is arrive a little early, find a parking spot within 5 minutes drive (e.g. on or on the other side of Fonsny), ask the person to call me when they leave the train, and pick them up on the Fonsny street entrance, near gates 21 & 22. Might not be great but I'm used to the routine. I dislike the other end of the station.

Unless you do what MIMI says above, the only other option is to use the car park, get out of the car and meet them inside the station, walk back downstairs to the car park.

If you think the parking costs are expensive, don't forget driving your car is even more expensive! Parking costs are a fraction of overall costs.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions. I may give the Fonsny side a try. It's not the cost of the carpark which bothers me as much as the (albeit minor) hassle of having to go underground, park, go up, go down, go out, etc.
