Parking near London

Question

Hi All,
I'm looking into going to London for a weekend in February. the plan is to drive via the Eurotunnel, park somewhere outside London and get a train/tube into the centre.

Can anyone recommend a good park and ride or train station in the Greater London area to park the car for the weekend? Ideally not too expensive.

Thanks alot

NethenBob

I realise that this is not in Greater London, but it probably is quicker than driving into Greater London and getting snarled up, taking longer in the process.

Ashford. Fast train from Ashford International to Stratford International and St. Pancras International takes 31 and 38 minutes respectively. Easy to get to from the tunnel and a big car park by the station.

Yes, the multi-storey car park alongside Ashford International station is what I use too. Always lots of space, level 5 is best for access to the station, and probably an hour quicker each way than any possible alternative.

Also check on any works happening with the underground network over the weekends, there are quite a few and you might end up getting caught out. Enjoy your trip.

Depends how far you want to go on train really. We drove to a secure park with in spitting distance of tower bridge good rates outside congestion charges. Don't recall name but I'm sure if google it would pop up any issue being so far in is checking time for driving out to miss rush.
If you do go for ashford per booking train tickets is useful to get a better deal.
