non-slip tiles for the floor of a walk-in shower

Question

I am buying a flat "sur plan". For the walk-in shower, the entrepreneur proposes putting 5 cm x 5 cm, polished tiles on the floor. They say that the grouting would stop anyone slipping. I have my doubts, and wonder if anyone can confirm if this is true. I would have the choice of using another tile and would have to pay the difference in price. Look forward to hearing about your experience and having some advice. Many thanks.

Tiles come in all different polishes and materials , the proof is in the testing , do ask for a sample and test it yourself.
YOU have to live with it in the end .
There are always anti-slip mats , but that is not a solution to start upon .
I do not want to elaborate on my experience with buying on plan entrepreneurs as the space to this is limited here.......

Rubbish.

Go to a til shop and talk to them. Pick what YOU want. Builders are notorious for having lousy taste in interior design.

Definitely.
A lot cheaper than a broken bone or having to redo the job.

Polished tiles in shower means slippery. For 5x5 it wouldn't be for 30x30 or 40x40, but dangerous anyway. Also, I5x5 is esthetically also quite risky. You'd be many lines of grout, and unless tile laying and grouting are both perfect, the result is ugly. It's worth the extra expense to get something else more appropriate.
