Bozar appoints new heads of music department, Aurore Aubouin and Jeroen Vanacker

Brussels’ flagship arts centre Bozar has announced the appointment of Aurore Aubouin and Jeroen Vanacker to lead its music department from summer 2024.

Bozar’s director Christophe Slagmuylder welcomed the joint expertise of the two music professionals. "I am deeply convinced that, together with their team, they will greatly strengthen the activities of our music department."

Aubouin (1981) has previously worked at La Monnaie in the Belgian capital and more recently at the Philharmonie de Paris as co-director of the concerts and spectacles department.

At Bozar, she will take on the role of head of music, strategy, artistic planning and production from April. 

Looking forward to creating “a new chapter for music in this emblematic venue”, she added that she was, “also thrilled to have this opportunity to return to Brussels and its inspiring energy".

Vanacker (1979) has been artistic director of Concertgebouw Brugge since 2008. He assumes the role of head of music, strategy and programming at Bozar from August.

"I am very excited to embark on a new chapter at Bozar, a splendid arts centre where I have regularly attended concerts for more than 25 years,” said Vanacker.

He was akso looking forward to working with Aubouin and the team “to reinvigorate the music programming in line with the fresh wind blowing through Bozar".
