No trams through downtown Brussels this weekend

21:34 04/10/2017

No underground trams will run through downtown Brussels this weekend due to engineering works, the Stib has announced.

The line will be closed from Rogier to Porte de Hal, via the Gare du Midi. Extra metros will operate on lines 2 and 6.

Tram line 3 will only run north of Brussels, between Esplanade and Rogier. Tram 4 will be limited to the south, from Stalle to Porte de Hal.

Trams 51 and 82 are also affected, with a replacement bus between Porte de Flandre and Porte de Hal.

New signalling equipment is being installed around the Gare du Midi and Lemonnier. Meanwhile, at De Brouckere, an underground bicycle park is being built just above the tram tracks.
