No repatriation to countries with Ebola, say Belgian police

11:01 27/10/2014

The Belgian police will temporarily stop carrying out the repatriation of asylum seekers to West African countries affected by Ebola. While asylum seekers from those countries continue to receive deportation notices, the police are refusing to enforce them, reports Het Nieuwsblad.

A police escort is required for repatriation to countries such as Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea. According to the federal police, Ebola is too much of a health threat in those countries, and therefore no officers will be requested to guide the repatriation efforts.

I can hardly believe this! Have those unfortunate people pass medical tests, certainly. But REPATRIATING is the wrong policy to the point of creepy !!!
