02:52 16/11/2015

The City of Brussels has unveiled a new wall mural in the Marolles district, featuring Quick and Flupke, characters from the famous comic strip series by Belgian cartoonist Hergé, the father of Tintin. It is the 54th mural along the comic strip route in Brussels, the self-proclaimed 'comic book capital of the world'.

The new mural can be seen at the corner of Rue Notre-Seigneur and Rue Blaes. It depicts the two cartoon characters building a masonry wall. The inauguration was attended by Fanny Rodwell, the second wife of creator Hergé, and Brussels mayor Yvan Mayeur.

The new mural cost the city an estimated €12,500.
