net salary

Question

I am looking for a way to work out my net salary. Can anyone please tell me if this calculator looks correct?
Thank you

Not the best I've seen. Doesn't allow for spouse, its employee only, and doesn't allow for disabled children or other dependants or extra benefits. Also, 13,9 times your monthly salary depends on the sector - not everyone gets the extra holiday pay and 13th month.

Thanks. I should add no dependants, no spouse and working independently - so really looking at net weekly pay, minus deductions.

Net pay /is/ minus deductions (doh!)

And you will NEVER get paid weekly in Belgium. At least not legally.

I wouldn't go near that site. It is hosted on a server in Hongkong, regsitered to a company in Panama and has a Facebook Like button on it to track site visits.

If I was being cynical, I'd say the site was deliberately posted on here as a trap site to pickup people's facebook profiles and link them to information on their annual earnings.

Being less cynical, I'd say, no, it's not a good calculator as it doesn't properly take into account various factors. You should really use a calculator on one of the sites of the various mutuelles in Belgium such as this one, which will give you actual results that work.

Yes - do know the difference between gross/net , which is why I corrected with the * (sadly no editing facility on here I think).
Does Xpats really have enough traffic to bother spam it??
About 15 years ago, when the Bulletin was around and thriving this site used be pretty lively with plenty of discussion. Sadly with the demise of the Bulletin the Xpats site suffered.
Whatever - thanks for the new link. That is helpful.

Dear Red,
just re to your last reply - sorry, if you are already that long on Xpats / in Belgium, you should have been aware about the usual answer of 'ask an accountant' and also about the mutualité system. All of them have now a pretty informative website.

Thanks but am looking at some temporary work - yes, paid by the hour, so therefore weekly. I no longer have an accountant in Belgium, hence the original question.
