Popular Walloon festival is selling out fast

The summer festival season continues with a weekend of concerts and family-friendly entertainment at Namur’s historic citadel on 26 & 27 August. The panoramic site hosts the fourth edition of Les Solidarités, a two-day programme with 50 hours of live music, plus numerous activities ranging from a kids’ centre, a solidarity village and vibrant urban arts such as hip-hop.

Performing artists display a similar diversity. They include Brussels trio Puggy, Patrick Bruel, Cali, Lady Sir, Saule, Slimane, Lost Frequencies, Julian Perreta, Alvara Soler, Tryo and Typh Barrow, among others.

After welcoming 43,000 festivalgoers in 2016, organisers have increased the festival space beyond the esplanade. The Maquis stage has moved to the nearby Château de Namur and the children’s zone has been enlarged to encompass concerts, theatre circus and storytelling. The adjacent kids’ playground Reine Fabiola Park provides additional entertainment.
