More trains to Belgian tourist attractions from this weekend

Belgian rail operator SNCB is putting on extra trains to the coast and other tourist attractions including Pairi Daiza, Walibi and the Ardennes from this weekend, as the summer holidays get under way.

There will be 30 extra trains serving Ostend, Knokke, Blankenberge and De Panne on weekdays and 32 at weekends until 3 September. Another six trains are on standby in case of exceptionally warm weather or higher-than-expected passenger numbers.

Bierges-Walibi station will be have 13 extra services in the week and 24 at the weekend. Cambron-Casteau, the nearest station to Pairi Daiza animal park, will also be served by 24 additional trains at weekends.

Over the summer, the validity of half-price weekend tickets is extended from Thursday evening until Monday.
