More than one in 10 employees interested in job change

10:35 04/04/2017

More than one in ten (11%) employees in Belgium would like to change jobs in the short term, writes Het Nieuwsblad based on an annual study by Securex on staff movements in the Belgian labour market in 2016. One year ago, that figure was 9%. In the long term, as many as one in five employees (20%) would consider changing jobs, up 5% from a year ago.

Employees in their early thirties are especially likely to look for a new job: 23% would consider it in the short term, and 26% in the long term. The study also reveals that more highly skilled than unskilled workers consider a switch.

"The intention to change employer is not necessarily the same as actually making the move. That requires a lot of resilience," says HR research expert Emely Theerlynck in the newspaper.
