The Mint shopping centre ready by late October

20:30 19/09/2017

The Monnaie shopping centre in downtown Brussels will reopen its doors in the second half of October, after two years of building works, owners have announced.

Renamed "The Mint", the three-level complex will house 20 stores including Decathlon, Uniqlo, Kiabi and Flying Tiger. Landlord AG Real Estate says all but one of the retail units has found a tenant.

The 15,000m² complex replaces the ageing shopping arcades which dated back to 1971. It is part of a bigger regeneration of the area, including the Bpost headquarters, Brussels city hall's administrative centre, and the new pedestrian zone where work began this week. Across the road, Parking 58 is being demolished to make way for offices, houses and shops.
