Mechanic for BMW

Question

New BMW owner and definitely don´t know much about cars. Looking for reliable mechanic. Thanks! Brussels/Waterloo

J

One might well suggest that if you did know much abot cars, you'd not have bought a BMW.

Generally, a BMW garage is the best place to get it attended to. Tey tend to know the brand better than any other mechanic.

If you're looking to save money, same fail. It's a BMW. You bought the image, now you have to pay for it.

Not the most helpful comment, but you win for most opinionated. A lot of assumption, but that´s ok. Hopefully someone else will respond.

If you want a BMW garage then I used to take mine to the one in Stockel as they were good and seemed to do what they said they had. Now I take mine to a mechanic friend but he is in the black so probably not what you want unless the car is over 8 years old.

German Car are good in my experience, and usually considerably cheaper than BMW.

They'll give you a written quote before the work starts, and all the parts are genuine BMW.

I was very pleased with the services of VB Car ( Specialist Independent BWW)
at rue Vanerkindere 536, 1180 Brussels 02 346 1473 when they were looking after my 316 ( E46). Prices are sensible too.
Check out as well the big BMW Independant in rue des Cultivateurs near La Chasse. 02 734 1730.

Thanks! This is great. The car is a 2006 model, so that´s why I thought perhaps there might be some other place to go than BMW. But I not opposed to it.

Really appreciate the feedback.

I can also recommend the small independent garage in rue des Cultivateurs. It's a long time since I had a BMW, but they helped me out with repairs when it was 7 or 8 years old when I no longer had omnium cover. My current German car is automatic and 10 years old, and I will go there next year for the annual service. They replaced the whole front bumper this year for half the price of my regular garage. Good luck with whatever choice you make!
