McDonald's to create 500 new jobs in Belgium

11:37 22/01/2015

McDonald's aims to create 500 new jobs in Belgium by the end of 2017, the fast food chain announced on Wednesday. Three-quarters of those jobs will go to young people under the age of 25.

McDonald’s will this year open four new restaurants across Belgium, creating an average of 40 jobs per site in Groot-Bijgaarden, Antwerp, Mol and Huy. Six restaurants will be renewed, including those in Bruges and Namur. In total, the burger chain will invest around €18 million in its Belgian market. In 2014, McDonald’s pumped €17 million into three new branches and five renewals in the country.

McDonald's Belgium CEO Stephan De Brouwer sees “serious potential” for at least 20 new locations in the coming years.
