Consultations d'Imagerie Médicale du Prince de Ligne, Dr Mendez. You will need a prescription.

If you're a lady of a certain age you should get a call for this automatically I believe in Flemish speaking area at least. This comes around ever few years. If not go and ask your GP for a suggestion especially if you have a concern which is why you're after one

You do NOT need a prescription for a mammogram. I just had one at Louise Medical center. The Medicis Center at Montgomery is also good. You should have one every year--after 40.

Hello Sparkles I'd suggest you do research before recommending yearly mammograms. In Scandinavia they have stopped doing them routinely as they feel that exposing breast to radiation isn't good and if there are early changes they can actually do harm. They are thought to cause unnecessary surgery for some people. The best thing to do is regular self examination and go to your gp if you see anything unusual. Year really isn't necessary and yes I do know the risk I have friends and family who've had great surgeries following these.'

CC_R, you can find arguments and research that support annual exams as well as for exams only every two years. It is highly dependent on family history, your personal history as well as other factors--to be discussed with your personal physician. The amount of radiation is very low and exposure to those levels often outweigh the risk of not finding cancer from a mammogram.

You need a prescription from the doctor. I am once refused a mammogram with an appointment as I did not have the paper with me.

I just had one--I called up and made the appt myself with no intervention from any doctor. Went to the appt and had the mammogram and full blood test--also at my request.

I did not know this. I guess yours is not connected to any hospitals. It is a private enterprise. I hope it is a very good one but I still suggest you also choose a hospital connected one. I have heard several cases of BC although people are checked. I know, there are doctors there also but a private one can easily close and disappear. I do not know how much you can trust them and how thorough they are.
