Mad rush for tickets to Harry Potter exhibition in Brussels

01:54 11/02/2016

50,000 tickets to this summer's Harry Potter exhibition in Brussels were sold immediately after ticket sales opened last Friday, writes Brusselnieuws. The exhibition runs from 30 June to 11 September at Brussels Expo.

The enormous response from Harry Potter fans on Friday caused the server to go down temporarily. But the website was quickly restored, and a total of 50,000 tickets were sold within minutes.

"We knew we were dealing with one of the most important exhibitions, but this result exceeds all expectations," promoter Manu Braff told Brusselnieuws.

Harry Potter: The Exhibition is an international travelling exhibition that made its debut in Chicago in 2009. After touring the world for seven years, the exhibition is now extending its tour with a first stop in Brussels.

The interactive exhibition features scenes from the Harry Potter films, such as Hogwarts School, Hagrid’s Hut and the Gryffindor common room, in addition to thousands of authentic props, costumes and creatures that were used in the film series.

Fans of the famous fantasy series need not despair, as there are still tickets available despite the intitial rush.
