Low Gas Flame

Question

Hi all,

I woke up today to find that my stove wasn't working properly. It is emitting verrrry low flame. There are four burners and an oven connected - they all are using the same gas line. The oven is not working as well. So I think there is some issue in the gas flow. Some type of obstruction I believe.

My question is, whom can I call for help to fix this issue? Any numbers, websites or references would be great. English and Dutch preferred. Thank you.

sometimes in your electricity/gas bill there are phone numbers to call in case of issues or problems. maybe you could check there first.

There will be a mains gas supply input valve somewhere, probably close to the meter. Check that it hasn't accidentally been knocked and partially closed as that would certainly produce the symptoms you are describing.

Otherwise, the obvious answer is that there is a leak in the supply, but for that to reduce the pressure significantly (as you seem to be experiencing) would need a substantial leak which should certainly be smellable (and would be likely to cause an explosion at any moment!).

There should be a 24/24 number to ring to report potential gas leaks and I would be very inclined to ring it. Even if there is no leak and you end up having to pay, the team that turns out should be able to suggest why you are experiencing low pressure and whom you should call to solve the problem.
