Looking for three-bedroom appartment
Hello. My wife and I and our two teenagers are relocating from Canada to Brussels for a period of one year starting 1 September 2017. We are looking for a three-bedroom apartment ideally in the historic centre or near it. I have been checking the online sites, but if anyone out there has an apartment that fits this description or knows of one, please feel free to reply. Our maximum monthly rent and related charges is €2,000. Thank you.
I know one that fits your description (it's just near my building), located literally 30 seconds away from the Royal Galleries and Grand Place area. It is a three-bedroom apartment in a good-standing building and charges are around 1700 € I think.

Note: If you really want to live in the city center (I do and I love it) be careful when someone offers something "near the historic center" just be sure that it actually is near the center. Some people will claim it's near if it's near the "Pentagon" (so called because the original city walls were laid out in a pentagon-like shape) but actually, being beyond but somewhat near the edge of the Pentagon is not the same as actually being in the historic center. Also, be aware that even in the center of the center it is possible to have a private garden, in case that interests you. That said, the Sablon and the Our Lady of the Snows neighborhoods are near the the edge of the Pentagon but within it and would qualify as being in (for the Sablon) and near (for Our Lady of the Snows) the historic center. Downtown i recommend the Saint Catherine/Fishmarket neighborhood, the Dansaert neighborhood, the Saint Géry neighborhood, the Saint Jacques neighborhood and the Grand' Place neighborhood.
Also be aware that not only is the central city expanded pedestrian zone being constructed but main downtown shopping area along rue Neuve and the rue des Bouchers neighborhood are also being completely redone as well as the inner ring along the pentagon (everything at once), so be prepared for construction sites.
Many communes are very nice and charming easily commutable into the centre by tram, metro or bus note the centre can be highly polluted the air quality is bad if you have asthma and difficult in a can and parking can be hard. So my advice is take a temporary residence apartment and then apartment hunt in person when you arrive. Some apartments may look charming on the web but when you come to live you discover there is an issue and once your in the leases are minimum three years and expensive to break as a rule.wr ended up the first time with a very difficult landlady and I wouldn't wish that on anyone
