London Paddington

Question

Good morning. I will be travelling to the UK on Monday by Eurostar. I have to catch another train at Paddington but I have three hours between trains. Would it be nice to just stroll around in the Paddington area looking at shops etc. or does anybody have any suggestions as what to do with 2-3 spare hours. I usually just sit and read at the station but three hours seems a bit too long to do that. Thanks for all your input.

Assuming that you don't have a load of luggage to carry around with you, and how comfortable you are with using the tube, I'd either
1) tube from St. Pancras 5 stops south on the Piccadilly line to Piccadilly Circus and walk up Regents street (Hamleys toy store, Liberty, Laura Ashley etc.) and you could do a bit of Oxford Street as well. To get to Paddington, it's 5 stops on the Bakerloo line from Oxford Circus.
2) Tube from St. Pancras 8 stops south on the Piccadilly line to Knightsbridge. You can then walk along Brompton Road (Harrods, plus all the high street fashion you could ever want), and pick up the tube again at South Kensington, Circle line 5 stops to Paddington.
