Legal requirements for babysitter

Question

Hello everybody, I am back to work and would need somebody to pick up my children from crèche and to take care of them from time to time. I am now wondering about the legal requirements: is it necessary to have a contract, is there any kind of insurance possible/necessary or is there anything else that I should be aware of? Maybe you would even know where I could find such a caretaker?
Your advices are highly appreciated! Thank you!

I've done quite a bit of childcare work here in Brussels. From my personal experience: No contract is required, and cash is best. For occasional babysitting you should pay at the end of the day; for a regular schedule it's nice to pay once per week. If you need them to drive your car, they should be on your insurance.

If you bring someone from another country to work as an au pair or nanny for your family, a more formal arrangement is required.

You can find some babysitters in the childcare section of this website, although a more active site is greataupair.com. You can find me here - I'm always looking for more babysitting work ;) http://www.greataupair.com/babysitter/Belgium-Brussels/babysitter1607919...
