Job creation in Belgium at lowest level in 10 years

Belgian employers find it increasingly difficult to expand their workforce. The number of new jobs in Belgium has reached its lowest level in a decade, reports De Standaard, based on figures from DynaM, a project that charts the dynamics of the Belgian labour market.

The figures, which take into account Belgium’s nearly 4 million employees and do not include the self-employed, show that 166,000 new jobs were created in the past 12 months. That is one-third less than just before the start of the crisis period in 2008, when employers created nearly 250,000 new jobs.
